Happy 4th of July!

One of my favorite people to follow on Pinterest, Etsy and her Blog is Ginny from Polly's Paper Studio.  Her projects are just amazing and she's definitely got the style that I love!  I ordered her Patriotic kit and was able to make six cards with her printables.  I then added some patterned papers, glitter, ribbon, tags, pearls, doilies, etc. to the cards.  Check them out and check out Ginny at Polly's Paper Studio.  You'll love her too!
Happy Independence Day to you and your family!  Thanks for taking the time to stop by Kirby's Kards.

Make it a great day!

Pinwheels and Wild Hair Days

We've definitely had some crazy, windy days lately.  When I think of the wind, I think of kites and pinwheels (and wild hair days!!)  I decided to make a fun birthday card with a pinwheel and mason jar.  Two Paper Divas has the perfect mason jar stamps with several accessories to go with them.  I used the Jar Access #3 stamp set and the Happy Birthday message and banner is from the Banners #1 set.  I had this pinwheel paper that I used on top of some aqua card stock and topped another patterned paper in the middle.
I wanted to pop the maroon and aqua colors, so I added a little twine around the mouth of the mason jar and also a couple buttons.  I finished it off with a few pearls on the message and also on the bow.  Thanks for blowin' on over to Kirby's Kards.

Make it a great day!

Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday

"You say it's your birthday...happy, happy birthday!"  Who doesn't love getting cards in the mail on their birthday?  I know I certainly do.  I made a fun cupcake birthday card, using some of the Two Paper Divas cute stamps.  I started with a black and cream polka dot print for the background and topped it with a doily circle die.  I stamped the table on brown kraft paper and used a stripe print for the cupcake wrapper.  I couldn't pass up using some glitter for this red velvet cupcake.  A pearl on top and this cupcake is ready to eat!  Yum!
I love this Happy Birthday stamp (from the Everyday Sentiments set) with the little confetti dots everywhere.  It seemed perfect for the look I was going for.  Adding a little red scalloped paper, some black felt hearts with pearls and a cream and red bow with a black button with twine really finishes this card.  Thanks for checking out Kirby's Kards!

Polka Dots

One of my favorite prints for clothing is polka dots.  They just seem to never go out of style.  When I saw my friend, Melissa, made a cute card with this background I thought man, I wish I had that!  Well, my hubby got online and surprised me with this polka dot background diecut.  So sweet, thanks honey!  I just love the new Pretty Posies stamps from Two Paper Divas.  I decided to stamp them in an orange color and cut them out to stack for a 3-D effect.  I also used the leaf stamp that comes with and traced it out onto felt.
Using some cream colored burlap and a couple other printed papers (one of which is another polka dot), this thank you card is just about done.  Just a little cream twine wrapped around a few times with a bow, a button and pearl and a Thank You stamp from TPD.  Two Paper Divas has quite a few sentiments that will fit any card you are making.  Be sure to check them out!  I certainly couldn't make a project without them.  This card is now good to go!

Make it a great day!

For the Guys in Our Lives

I've been so very blessed to have the best dad ever!  When I saw this sports line from Graphic 45, I knew this was perfect for all those guys in our lives.  I mean what guy doesn't love sports?  Check out these three Father's day cards I made all using the sweet sentiment from Two Paper Divas.  If you haven't stopped by their website to check out their latest stamps, you are totally missing out.  They have seven new sets that are just amazing!  I'm definitely having a blast trying them out.  So perfect for all those special people in our lives.  Here's the cards I made using the sports line "Good Ol' Sport."
I used a green plaid and newspaper printed paper for the background, added a baseball image, paperclip, few little tickets and a black bow with an olive button.  Yes, I put a bow on a man card.  I know, I know.  I couldn't resist!
I kept this card a little more subdued with blacks and tans.  I just love all the extras like the paperclips and metal pin for the Happy Father's Day sentiment from Two Paper Divas.  All of the Divas stamps are available here.
Lovin' this baseball image with the pinstriped uniform.  I added a few extras: the scorecard with tack, mini paperclip, a few flags at the top right corner and the pinstriped paper.  I just love ripping the edges of the paper to give it an older look.
My dad and I spent many evenings watching the Minnesota Twins (my favorite team growing up) and the New York Yankees (my dad's fav).  My dog, Kirby (who this blog is named after is named after Minnesota Twins great Kirby Puckett.)  Anyway, I sure hope you get to spend some time with your dad on Father's day.  If your dad has already gone to be with our Heavenly Father, then it is my hope that you can take some time to remember the many memories that you had together.  What can I say, daughters love their daddies.  There's nothing better than a big teddy bear hug from your dad.

Make it a great day!
