Bundle of Joy

Bryan and I were so blessed to become an Auntie and Uncle again this month!  My brother and sister-in-law welcomed Elliott Andrew Piper into the world on December 14th.  We were super excited to get to meet him at Christmas.  Here is the card I made for this special occasion:

A lot of baby boy patterned papers were used on this card.  In addition to those, I used a couple of die cut circles.  On the white circle, I embossed two little feet and then added a flag to the top.  I stamped the "Welcome Little One" sentiment from Two Paper Divas  twice to finish the outside of the card off.

The inside of the card used another stamp from Two Paper Divas set called "Baby Clothesline."  Aren't the onesies so sweet??!!

Here's a look at the envelope, love those mini clothespins!

Here's a pic of me and the little guy! Pretty cute, isn't he?

Make it a great day!

Heart Flowers

Who doesn't love flowers?  And hearts?  Well, I thought why not combine the two??!!  I just love the set from Two Paper Divas called "Button Flowers."  I wanted to use that stamp for the stems and leaves of my heart flowers.  The hearts are from Two Paper Divas newest stamp set called "String of Hearts."

I stamped the hearts on white card stock and then cut out the three I wanted to use as flowers.  I decided to create a pocket on this card for my tag to fit into.  Patterned paper was used for the background as well as the pocket.  Pearls were added to the top two corners and the sentiment "Happy Heart Day" was stamped and popped up on the pocket.  To complete my card, I added lace to the top of the tag and a heart trim to the top of  the pocket.

You & Me

The Christmas cards have all been mailed, so Valentine cards here I come!!!  Don't you just love Valentine's Day?  I certainly do and I love making cards for all ages!  Check out my latest card using a new stamp set from Two Paper Divas called "Heart Blocks."

I started my card by rounding the edges of the white card stock and heart background paper.  Then I used a scalloped border punch on a piece of pink paper and topped it with aqua and white check paper.  The "Heart Blocks" stamp set has been stamped on white paper, colored with Copic markers, cut out and then popped up.  I added a few mini pearls to the heart on the left side.  A pink seam binding bow was added as well as a few conversation hearts that say "kiss me" and "you & me."  Too fun!

Sharing Lots of Love

My friends at Two Paper Divas just released some "love"ly new stamps today!  What can I say...I'm in love! xoxo

Check out my first card:
Growing up my parents had (and still have) a red old-fashioned gum ball machine.  It was awesome and it took pennies, not quarters!  I loved that machine especially when we got fresh new gumballs from the candy store.  So, for this card I decided to make my gumball machine the color red just like my mom's.  I added the heart candies, which I colored in reds and pinks with Copic markers and then topped with Wink of Stella for a sugary coating.  In addition to a couple of patterned papers for the background, I layered pink felt hearts, red buttons with white lace and the sentiment "May your day burst over with Love!"

(using stamp set "I Chews You")

My next card features the new set called "String of Hearts."  I love the different sizes of hearts as well as the patterns on each one.  There's so much that you could create with this set.  I hope you'll check out Two Paper Divas website where there's more samples using the heart stamp set.  I colored the hearts using Copics and added a few rhinestones along with the pink checked paper at the bottom.

The last card I'm sharing today uses Two Paper Divas stamp set "Heart Blocks."  I only used a small portion of the border stamp for this card.  This card has a layered look...I started with a gray heart background paper, added a pink patterned paper and then a gray flowered paper.  To that I popped a red heart, a pink seam binding bow and a few stick pins.  I stamped the entire heart border on white card stock, colored the section I was using and cut it out.  To tie all of my colors together, I used gray, pink and red.  Pretty cute, right??!!

Thanks for taking a minute out of the craziness of Christmas shopping to stop by Kirby's Kards!

Glitter Everywhere!

I am officially covered in glitter, head to toe!  Tis the season, right??!!  Well,we have been working on our inside decorations as it is a little bit icy outside.  Our Christmas tree is decked out in red and white this year.  We added a church that lights up.  Check it out:

I decided to keep with the red and white theme, so here's a little tag I made that would be perfect to add to a present or a goody bag.  I started with a red Christmas paper for the background and added a red glittered frame.  The ice skates were stamped, cut out and then glittered with white and silver for the blades.  Did you know that Two Paper Divas also sells sequins?  I added a few of their silver sequins to the tag as well.  The sentiment "Snowy Greetings" is from their set "Warm Winter Wishes."  To complete my tag, I added white pom pom ribbon to the bottom and white crinkled seam binding to the top along with some silver twine and a couple shiny red jingle bells.

Sure hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving with your family!

Make it a great day!

Christmas and Poinsettias

I was really wanting to use one of my new stamp sets from Two Paper Divas and kept thinking how could I do something totally different?  Maybe change it up a bit??!!  Well, here's what I came up with:

I stamped one of their background stamps all over a piece of white card stock using maroon ink.  Then I ran my paper through the die cutting machine using a poinsettia die.  Isn't it cute?  I love how the flower looks like it has some texture to it.  Layered behind the poinsettia is a tan ribbon with maroon polka dots.  It's placed on top of a sweet aqua snowflake patterned paper.  Next, I stamped the sentiment, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" on white paper and added a little polka dot paper to the top and bottom.  A few glittery, silver dots were added and voila that's it!

Thanks for taking a minute to check out my latest creation!

Make it a great day!

Thanks Snow Much using FMS #212

Well, I figure I'm going to be good for a while now.  I've been under the weather for over a week ...darn cough, sore throat and cold that keeps lingering on and on.  That should mean I'm not going to catch anything else for the rest of the winter season, right?  (Crossing my fingers!) Check out my latest card using stamps from Two Paper Divas and a layout from Freshly Made Sketches:

I have to say I love white cardstock with kraft paper.  I wanted to try using white ink on the brown paper for this project.  Two Paper Divas just released these new background patterned stamps and I used two different prints for this card.  Each was stamped and cut out, along with roughing up the edges a bit.  I layered them on white cardstock and popped both for a 3-D effect.  The "Thanks Snow Much" stamp is also from Two Paper Divas set "Warm Winter Wishes."  To complete my project, I added a few wooden stars.  Perfect for that Christmas present thank you card!

Make it a great day!

Spiders & Glitter, Oh My!

Well, I said in my last post to check back for a funny Halloween project, so here it is.  I made these creepy, little critters using a kit by Martha Stewart...the only problem was there weren't any instructions included.  So here is what I came up with:

Aren't they scary and cute at the same time??!!  Okay, now moving on to my latest card:

This was a fun card to create...lovin' all the glitter!  I used a couple of holiday patterned papers for my background and added white pom pom ribbon to frame the card a bit.  The Christmas light bulbs were stamped on red paper and then glittered in red and gold.  These are from Two Paper Divas set "Merry & Bright."  I popped them and added red and gold twine to hook them together.  To finish this card, I die cut "Joy" and added a couple gold sequins to the top right corner.

Just For You!

Halloween cards in the mailbox, check!  Halloween candy for the trick-or-treaters, check!  Royals headed to the World Series, check!  Another Christmas card completed, check!  Boy, I'm getting a lot accomplished...well a few things anyway!  Check out my latest Christmas card:

Don't ya just love the color gray?  I certainly do and I decided to pop red and white with that gray color.  The background paper has been run through my Big Shot to make the stitched border.  I then wrapped silver twine three times around the center of my card and tied a bow.  The white and gray tag has been popped as well as the two candy canes.  The candy canes are one of the latest stamps from Two Paper Divas called what else than "Candy Canes!"  I colored them with a red copic marker and then added a little mistletoe from the set "Christmas Clothesline."  On top of that I added two paper flowers and a gray tag which reads, "Just For You" from Two Paper Divas set "Truffle Treats."  To complete this Christmas card, I added a sweet red and white polka dot ribbon that has lace at the bottom as well as a couple of sequins.

Hope you enjoyed my latest creation!  Be sure to check back next week for a funny Halloween project!  It will definitely make you laugh!

Make it a great day!

Vintage Images

I'll tell you what, I really hope that the Royals keep winning because I'm getting a lot accomplished while listening to the games on the radio!  I was able to knock out several cards the other night and here's a few of them:

My friend, Rene, opened the sweetest, vintage, shabby chic paper crafting store and I got to go after church a couple of weeks ago.  It's called Vintage in KC and it's located in Shawnee, KS.  If you haven't been, you have got to go check it out!  She is amazing at well, everything! :o)  I made these cards using a new paper line by Maya Designs called Summer Crush that I purchased at her store.

The patterned papers features blues and pinks, so they could work for either men or women.  I have to say that the bicycle one is my favorite!

Wintertime Cards & Baseball

Well, it's been quite exciting here in the Kansas City metro!  The Royals won the American League Division Series and now they're onto the American League Championship Series against the Toronto Blue Jays.  So, last night was Game 1 and of course we couldn't miss it!  I moved my craft table out to the living room and setup camp!  Check out these cards that I made cheering on the Boys in Blue:

My first card started with this adorable Snowman stamp from Two Paper Divas.  I wanted him to be the focal point of my card, stamping him in navy blue ink on a white tag.  Every card needs a "pop" of color, so mine was orange.  The snowman accents were colored with an orange copic marker and then topped with Wink of Stella for that glistening shine.  I added a couple of snowflakes, a light blue bow and some silver twine with a Tim Holtz snowflake.

Sticking with a Christmas/Winter theme, this next card uses "Jingle All The Way," which is also a stamp from Two Paper Divas.  I love greens, tans and silver together, so I started with my patterned papers.  There's a green and tan check paper at the top that has been scalloped punched and then a green and tan snowflake paper.  Silver twine was added to the top along with a Merry and Bright metal tag, also from Tim Holtz.  For the main portion of this card, I stamped the Jingle Bell block twice.  On the first one, I colored the bells a gray color and outlined the block with a green copic.  Then on my second one, I colored just the bells and cut them out to give a layered, pop-up look.  Wink of Stella was added to jazz the bells up a bit!  To finish this card, I added a few silver glittered dots to the bottom corners.

Thanks for checking out Kirby's Kards today!  Let's Go Royals!

Spooky

Is it just me or have you been walking through a million spider webs these days??!!  Don't ya just love how foolish you look trying to wipe the webs off of yourself and how it feels like you still have them on you?  Or maybe even a spider?  Well, I decided to make a mini spider web card.  The web is actually a patterned paper and I added orange pom pom ribbon to the bottom.  The fence is a die that was cut out of black paper and the "Spooky" orange banner is a stamp from Two Paper Divas set "Wicked Wear."  And don't miss the owl that I stamped on top of the fence...it's from the same stamp set.  Make sure to click here to check out all of the latest stamps from Two Paper Divas!

Sure hope you are able to get outside and enjoy this beautiful, crisp fall weather!  We tried our hand at a corn maze and no, we didn't get lost at all!  LOL!!!

It's Fall, Ya'll!

Well, I mentioned in last week's post that my goal for this week was to get the outside of our home decked out for fall.  So, here's a couple pictures:

Pumpkins and gourds are some of my favorites and I just love these stamps from Two Paper Divas.  I started my card by using plain white card stock and then roughed up the edges on a smaller piece of white paper and added it on top.  I have been seeing that people are layering the same colors, so I wanted to try it out!  Burlap was then glued down and the pumpkins were stamped in orange and olive ink and popped on top.  Gold sequins, gold twine and brown twine were also used for a little texture.  I layered orange striped paper, kraft paper and then white card stock at the bottom of the card and stamped "Fall is in the Air."  This is also a stamp from Two Paper Divas, all part of the same set.

Thanks for stopping by Kirby's Kards for a look at my latest project!

Happy Haunting!

This week marked the first day of the fall season. Yeah!  Autumn is my very favorite for several reasons: the changing colors of the trees, cooler temperatures, corn shocks, pumpkins, gourds, straw bales, boots with leggings, chunky sweaters, apple cider, I could go on forever!  Our house is all decked out on the interior and I'm hoping to get the outside done this next week!  I love decorating for the seasons!

Today, I decided to make a Halloween tag using one of the spooky new stamp sets from Two Paper Divas called "Halloween Silhouettes."   I used every single stamp in the set to make this tag.  It's honestly become one of my favorites.  The "Happy Haunting" saying is also from Two Paper Divas.  I started by cutting a tag out of kraft paper and then layering a tan Halloween paper with different words on it.  The black and white star paper was then added on top of the mini polka dot horizontal piece.  I stamped the fence, tombstone, crow, moon and bat on card stock and cut them out.  The moon and bat have been popped for a little dimension.  To complete this scary tag, I added the "31" metal oval by Tim Holtz, orange glittered dots, black pom pom ribbon to the bottom, black ribbon with a black and orange button and twine.

Thanks for stopping by Kirby's Kards today to check out my latest creation!  Hope I didn't scare you too much with this "spook-tacular"tag!

Have a "Tie"rific Birthday!

"Cause every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man!"  Do you remember that song by ZZ Top?  When I hear that, I always think of my Uncle Sam!  He's always had a suit and tie kind of job and I can remember teasing him as a little kid that he had soooooooo many neckties, but they certainly gave him sharp dressed look.  Well, Uncle Sam's birthday is next week so as I was thinking about what kind of card to make, I knew these little neckties were just perfect!

I started with a couple "manly" gray and brown papers for my backgrounds.  The outer paper has been die cut with little stitches around the edges.  The next paper was cut and popped to add some dimension and then a smaller kraft paper was also cut and popped as well.  These adorable ties are from Two Paper Divas stamp set "For a Special Guy."  They were all stamped in brown ink on kraft paper and then cut out and popped.  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is also from Two Paper Divas.  I then added a brown leaf stick pin in the center of my brown and white twine bow.

Check out the inside of my card:

BIG Birthday Wishes

September is a busy birthday card month for me.  This card I am sharing today is going to a 95 year old friend who lives at Riverview Estates in Marquette, KS.  He's a great guy that I had the privilege of waiting on at the bank and the cafe every Sunday after church.  Don never missed sending my hubby and me a birthday or Christmas card that he made on his computer.  So, Don this card is for you on your 95th birthday!

"BIG Birthday Wishes" is one of the latest stamps from Two Paper Divas and I wanted to make it the focal point of my card.  So, first I stamped the image in black ink and used Copic markers to color it in.  My color scheme on this card came from the patterned papers which featured red, yellow and aqua.  The yellow checked paper is punched with a scalloped trim and a red checked bow was added to the top.  To finish my card, I added a few clear sequins.

Sassy Trees

Two Paper Divas just released their latest stamp sets for the month of September and I'm loving "Sassy Trees!!!"  The set includes three different sized trees with little tree stands as well as different patterns to stamp on each tree.  Love, love, love!

I wanted to change things up from making cards all the time, so I hope you enjoy this homemade ornament that I came up with.  I think it will be a great addition to one of our trees this year!  I decided to go with a blue, gold and white color scheme for this ornament.  I started with a mini snowflake patterned paper for the background and then stamped a couple of snowflakes on it using "Warm Winter Wishes" also from Two Paper Divas.  The three trees were stamped on white card stock using brown, navy and light blue ink and popped on top of the background paper.  I cut the tree stands out of kraft paper to incorporate that brown/gold color.  The two layers of hills were glittered for a snowy effect!  The "Snowy Greetings" sentiment was just perfect for this project, so I stamped it on white card stock, cut it out and popped it as well.  I glued brown and white twine around the edges and attached the plastic ornament topper to the paper.  Super fun project!

Here's a couple different angles:

Thanks for stopping over to check out my latest Christmas ornament featuring one of the new stamp sets from Two Paper Divas!

Deck the Halls

Happy Labor Day Weekend!  Hope everyone is having a fun and safe three day weekend (or if you're like me, a four day weekend).  Today I decided to beat the Christmas rush and started working on making Christmas cards.  Hey, it's never too early to start working on those things, right??!!  Especially if you have a long list of special people to send them to!!!

For this card, I started with kraft paper for my background, added an olive and white checked paper and then white card stock that I rounded the edges on.  I stamped the pine branch twice in two different shades of green.  Aren't the Christmas ornaments hanging from the branch cute?  The three different Christmas ornaments are from Two Paper Divas new set called "Deck the Halls."  I stamped the string with bows in black ink on the white paper.  The ornaments were stamped, colored with a gold Wink of Stella pen and then cut out.  I wanted them to really stand out, so I popped each one of them.  I was having so much fun with my gold glitter pen, so I used it on the branch and the "Deck the Halls" sentiment at the bottom to carry over the gold, shiny look for this card,.  Finally, I finished this "fancy" card by adding three gold pearls to the top right corner.

Thanks for taking a minute to check out my blog today!  Only 111 days until Christmas, one card down, a whole lot more to go.

Make it a great day!
