Eat More Cupcakes!

Who doesn't love this saying, "Life is Short, Eat More Cupcakes??!!"  I love a little sweet treat...especially a chocolate sweet treat!  This has been such a fun week because Thursday was my 33rd birthday!  I found out that I share my birthday with National Cheesecake Day!!!  What?  Seriously?  That's got to be the best news ever!  My coworkers treated me to lunch at The Cheesecake Factory to celebrate.  So, with desserts on the brain I just had to make a delicious card to share with you.  Check it out:

The background is just one printed paper that I wrapped red and white twine around and tied a bow.  I stamped each cupcake twice so I could have the wrapper on patterned paper and that would allow me to color the flowers and sprinkles.  I used a red Wink of Stella pin to color them and a yellow Copic marker.  These cute cupcakes are stamps from Two Paper Divas as well as the fun sentiment.  The stamps also include several other cupcakes and many more birthday themed sayings.

I hope you had a great week as well and that you take some time to get a little creative this weekend!

Make it a great day!

Sweet Blossoms using FMS #196

I'm really lovin' this card layout from Freshly Made Sketches.  I've been wanting to use these "Sweet Blossom" stamps from Two Paper Divas again and this was a perfect opportunity!  I started by using a peach colored paper for the main background and layered a couple papers at an angle.  The flowers were stamped on different patterned papers and cut out.  I popped the flowers for a 3-D effect.  The "Just Because" stamp is also from Two Paper Divas.  They have the best clear acrylic stamps!  I added a couple of sequins for a little bling-bling!!!

Thanks for taking a minute out of your busy summer and checking out my latest card creation!

Make it a great day!

Trees

I've decided that I definitely have a certain style of cards that I create.  And, it seems that they all start looking alike after so long.  On that note, I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something a little bit different, more abstract.  I'm curious to know what you think of my latest card.

The tree stamp is one of the new stamps from Two Paper Divas.  Not only do you get the tree, but you receive a few types of leaves to coordinate.  I wanted to try stamping the tree and then creating a shadow or reflection.  I started by sponging the bottom section of the card as well as the edges.  Shades of brown copic markers were used to color the trees.  "Enjoy the Journey" is a stamp from set Simple Phrases, also from Two Paper Divas.

Cup of Joy! using FMS #194

It's been quite a week at our house...both of our dogs had to go to the vet for emergencies.  Chip managed to sprain his leg and Kirby developed a large lump on his neck that turned out to be an abscess.  Both are home recovering and are in good spirits.  So thankful for that!

In the midst of all the craziness, I managed to escape to my little craft room and create a sweet card using the latest Freshly Made Sketch.  I love these sketches because they really challenge me to make something totally different than my normal projects.  So on that note, check out my card:

I love turquoise and brown together so I started with a brown polka dot paper for the background and popped two squares on top of that.  The camel colored square is stamped with a sentiment from Two Paper Divas that says, "Cup of Joy!"  The turquoise square has two coffees/hot chocolate on it that are also stamps from Two Paper Divas.  Brown and white twine and some sequins really finish this card off!  Wouldn't this card be perfect for someone on the mend or a friend that loves coffee?
